Whilst at Love Taste Co we pride ourselves on developing great recipes – have we previously mentioned our collaborations with Michelin-starred chefs?! Did you know that there are also many well-being benefits to be had?
Pash ‘N’ Shoot, one of our core fruit ranges, contains mango which research has shown to have prebiotic properties.
Prebiotic! What is that I hear you say? Well let us enlighten you…..
The market is saturated with probiotic products that are essentially live bacteria found in dairy products. They are often used in an attempt to combat; gastrointestinal side effects as a result of some medicines and even though they may control certain gastrointestinal conditions they are not deemed to be as effective as prebiotics.
The latter on the other hand is known to nourish the good bacteria some may even say nurture it. In turn, this creates a balanced ratio which has a direct correlation on one’s overall health and wellness. There is even evidence to suggest that it reduces cortisol levels.
Still need to be convinced?
Mango is also an excellent source of:
- vitamin A which benefits vision and skin
- vitamin C helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful oxygen-free radicals
- vitamin B6 is required for GABA hormone production within the brain
- copper (a moderate amount may I add!) is required for the production of red blood cells
Mango is revered by many cultures.
In Ayurveda it is believed to reduce the agitated Vata and Pitta doshas, which if aggravated can create an imbalance thus causing a number of ailments.
What better way to start your day or even unwind after a long, hard slog.
